Below are some of the most frequently asked questions from new coaching clients.

What should I expect from the free, 30 minute coaching session?

The free coaching session is a great way for you to get a sense of who I am and my coaching style before making any commitment.

A successful coaching experience starts with the relationship between the Client and the Coach. You want to make certain you feel comfortable, safe and ‘heard’. 

The free session is an opportunity for us to address one specific challenge or issue you have going on in your life.

 

Are you going to try and sell me a coaching package during my free session?

I am happy to discuss any of my different coaching packages and how they might be of benefit to you, but I won’t try and "sell" you on anything.

You and I are either going to "click" or we're not. That can't be forced. I respect your ability to decide whether life coaching, and in particular, my services will be of benefit to you.

 

How can Life Coaching help me?

If you want to create positive and sustainable change in your life, coaching can help. 

If you’re in the midst of a life transition, coaching can help. 

If you want to change how you feel, coaching can help. 

If you want to change how you behave, coaching can help. 

I coach from a strengths-based perspective. The answer to every question, problem or dilemma resides within you. Sometimes the answer is buried deep within, overgrown with fear, insecurity and self-doubt. My job is to help you uncover the answer.

We won’t be talking about stuff from your past. Coaching is about where you are now and where you want to be in the future.

Life Coaching helps you set goals, take action and move forward.

 

Is coaching like therapy?

It most certainly is not! Therapy can tend to focus on the past, causing people to keep reliving the bad stuff.  Coaching focuses on the future. We work together to close gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

 

What will the process be like?

Coaching Packages:

These 1, 4, 8 and 12 session packages are Client-driven. Meaning that you decide what you want to focus on or address. Even if you “don’t know” we can work on creating greater clarity.

Coaching will help you create a vision for your future, set goal(s) (realistic and sustainable) and address any potential obstacles (internal and external) that might prevent you from achieving your goal(s).

Coaching requires work. Goals need action behind them. I am there to guide you through the process.

Mid Life Reboot and Walk Your Path:

These packages are structured and a workbook is provided to help you during the program. Both these programs require some "homework" each week. You will be taken through a fun process of self-exploration and discovery. More details here: MID-LIFE REBOOT    WALK YOUR PATH

 

How will we "meet"?

Whatever is most convenient or comfortable for you. Ways we can meet: phone, Skype or Zoom. In person when feasible.

 

How often do we meet?

Each session lasts 60 minutes. If you have signed up for a package I prefer to schedule sessions for once a week. If needed we can schedule every two weeks. I have found that waiting more than two weeks between sessions can break the momentum.

 

Who initiates the call/contact?

It is your responsibility to initiate the call/contact on the scheduled date and time. 

 

What is expected of me?

Most importantly, call/contact me on your scheduled date and time. 

If you’ve been assigned ‘homework’ please have it completed prior to the session.

Limit distractions: turn off your phone, close down your e-mail, etc. 

Let everyone in the household know you you are not to be disturbed, short of an emergency.

I want you to get the most out of our time together, therefore, it is imperative you decrease the chances of interruptions or distractions during our work together. 

 

What if I call in late for a session?

If you call in late for a session, we still end the session at the scheduled time. If you call/contact late there is no discount. You cannot add the missed minutes onto another session.

Please note: I will not wait more than 15 minutes for your call/contact. 

After 15 minutes the session is forfeited. This means you can’t reschedule the session and you won’t get a refund. Sorry to sound like a hard-ass, but it’s best to be clear about these things.

 

What if I have to cancel a session?

I understand, life happens. If you have to miss a pre-scheduled session let me know via email at least 24 hours ahead of time. You can send me an email here hello@MMHCoaching.com. We will reschedule. 

 

What if I miss a session?

If you totally miss a session and make no effort to contact me (call or email) the session is forfeited. Which means you can’t reschedule and you won’t get a refund. Time, mine as well as yours, is a precious resource. Please honor that.
